Why Mai is Always so MoroseAny day Mai spent with her mother was a day Mai was punished for doing something or other. Her mother knew every obscure rule of etiquette in existence, and try as she might, Mai inevitably broke at least one. It might have been anything from speaking out of turn to her pinky not being angled correctly when taking a drink. It was worse when they were in society.
